Dental implants in Woburn, Massachusetts, are great dental restorations that can replace your missing teeth and provide long-term results. They can finally give you the complete, functional, and stunning smile you’re looking for.
To help you learn more about dental implants, our Agape Dentist team is happy to explain the treatment process to you! The treatment involved in placing a dental implant includes the following three steps:
Step 1: Before you begin the implantation process, your dentist needs to check the health and strength of your gums and jawbone. So, she will thoroughly examine our oral cavity by taking a series of dental X-rays. If your oral health is in tip-top shape, your dentist will create a treatment plan just for you.
Step 2: You will then visit an oral surgeon to begin the implantation process. The surgeon will place a tooth root implant, which is made of titanium, into the bone socket of your missing tooth. Your bone will then need to heal around the post, which could take six to twelve weeks.
Step 3: When your bone has healed around the post, your dentist will attach an abutment onto the post. Then, she will create a dental crown that will fit perfectly in your smile. Once the crown is ready, she will place it over the abutment.
Once you complete these three steps, you will have the strong, functional, and beautiful smile you deserve.
